Because my late father was a pilot it was inevitable that aviation would one day form one part of my professional career. When cross marketing opportunities arose between aviation and financial services, it felt like a match made in heaven. It was and still is extremely exciting to dovetail financial services and aviation opportunities.

My aviation activities are unique, specialising in flying dogs for clients across the world, from continent to continent and short-haul across Europe. The main challenge confronting long-haul dog transportation is the need to split 14-hour flights into a maximum of 4 – 5 hour sectors.

Its hard to believe only last year, 2022, strict quarantine remained in several parts of the world. As we enter Q3 of 2023, the covid travel  restrictions have all but disappeared. However, airlines, who laid off thousands of staff and temporarily placed unused aircraft into storage are struggling to get services back up and running. The additional issue of Russian airspace being avoided is putting additional and unwanted pressures on scheduled airline operations. As an example, flights from Europe to Asia are now taking between 2 and 4 hours longer, meaning aircraft are taking longer to return to their home bases, casuing a knock on effect and for aircraft timings and utilisation. Not forgetting of course the added cost of the additional fuel.

Private Jet travel has increased significantly and being used as an alternative for groups of travellers and their pets, who need to be assured of reaching destination on time with no risk of cancelations.
