atomos – the best of both worlds

Confederation Life Insurance Company was the springboard to my career which to date spans over 40 years.

My career path in regulated financial planning:

• 1983 – 2002 (19 years) – Confederation Life Insurance Company, in 1995 integrated with Sun Life of Canada
• 2002 – 2008 (6 years) – Armstrong Cavendish Associates
• 2008 – 2018 (10 years) – Petrus Financial Services Ltd
• 2018 – current – Ergowealth Ltd. In 2023 integrated into atomos

Financial services offer a unique platform to meet clients across a broad spectrum of geographical location and professions, companies and industries.

The biggest influence in my professional life was my late father, who sent me out into the world with a piece of advice that has been  a central theme during my entire career.

“there is never a bad reason to personally visit a client, customer or business opportunity, with or without an appointment”

My father’s advice has never been more relevant than in 2023, when most business opportunitues are being defered to impersonal video conferencing style communications. My preference for face to face meetings has created opportunities outside the traditional onshore financial services profession, that may just not have happened if I was solely reliant on viceo conferencing. Nothing beats personal ‘face time’ with clients.

In 2018 I was introduced to Ergowealth Ltd, a boutique and chartered independent financial advisory firm situated in Marlow. The firm’s directors, one of whom was a colleague during my time at Sun Life of Canada, motivated and incentivised me to develop new, fresh, and innovative opportunities.

In March 2023, Ergowealth integrated into atomos, creating a more comprehensive and dynamic approach to investment management and financial planning.
