Because my late father was a pilot it was inevitable that aviation would one day form one part of my professional career. When cross marketing opportunities arose between aviation and financial services, it felt like a match made in heaven. It was and still is extremely exciting to dovetail financial services and aviation opportunities.

My aviation activities are unique, specialising not only human passengers but also flying dogs for clients across the world, from continent to continent and short haul across Europe. The main challenge confronting long-haul pet transportation is the need to split 14-hour flights into a maximum of 4 – 5-hour sectors for pet comfort breaks.

In 2025, Russian airspace largely remains closed for most European and American registered aircraft. This is increasing nearly all flight times from Europe to the Far East and beyond, by up to 3 – 4 hours. There are aircraft that can take complex routings over the north pole, but with pets on board, this may cause problems with suitable times and places for comfort breaks, if needed. Routings and flight / sector timings all form part of the flight planning discussions and will be tailored to your pet’s needs.

Daton clients are utilising private charter, to create a more comfortable environment for air travel.
